Hop flowers are the yellowish-green female flower bracts of a tall vine in the hemp family. The organic hops we offer are suitable for use in brewing beer (classified as strong bittering hops with high alpha acids) as well as a dietary supplement.

Botanical name: Humulus lupulus L.

Medicinal use: 
Hops is most commonly used for its sedative properties. Hop tea is used in treatments of nervous diarrhea, insomnia, and various nervous system disorders. It is also considered helpful for appetite stimulation, cramps, flatulence, and digestion enhancement. Common Hop is also useful in treatment of problems with urinary complaints.

Directions: 
To use as a tea, pour 1 cup boiling water over 1 teaspoon of hops flowers. Cover and steep for 10 minutes.
